Notes for those planning a visit

For those new to Ormswald
some general advice. Normally the Hof is free to use in that the trustees do not charge for it. However, there are things that cost money and so a donation of around £2 is appreciated. It can be cash or kind. I normally provide things like smokeless coal, paraffin, candles, paper cups and plates etc. Anything left over once these are paid for will go into a maintainance kitty for the place. Alternatively, forget the cash and give us your time and effort on a work day – there are lots of things needing upkeep and we have plans to extend the Hof and other interesting stuff! I have a detailed map of how to get to Ormswald, so if you are driving I'll send it to you via email on request. For those travelling by rail the nearest station is Broxbourne out of Liverpool St. Again, let me know if you're coming this way and I'll try and arrange a pickup. Some Simple Rules ...which apply to all users. Don't chop down trees! Park cars within the property boundaries, not on the public highway. In the event that the place is filled up then the car park at the Woodman might be used – we have to check permission for that though. More later. Avoid blocking in other vehicles at the Car Park Arena entrance. Do not leave fires unattended on Summer days. Pick up any broken glass Take your rubbish away with you. Don't just bag it up and expect someone else to be dustman. Campfires burn wood – not beercans. Take them back with you. On leaving the site close the main gate.
